Can anyone tell me why Carl killed Leanne in "Five Days"-saw very end but missed last 15 mins!?

The flower seller was with kyle when leanne stopped to buy flowers and she started having a go about fags being sold to her grandad. Flower seller didnt like it and shoved her. She hit her head. They took her back to caravan. She became ill somehow and Kyle called army guy who was the one who put her in the water but dont know if he knew she wasnt dead or thought she was cos they never told you that bit.

God knows, I watched it but was totally baffled at the end.
This programme turned out to be a major disappointment in that so many things in it never made any sense.
The last episode was a total waste of time.
