25 cents a week.
I could buy a Shasta Rootbeer for 10 cents, a Hershey bar for 10 cents, and 5 sticks of gum. Circa 1967

I got 20p a week up until about the age of fourteen, when it went up to £1 (...eventually). We had an electricity meter that took 50p pieces, and I used to nick them when no one was around, and blame it on my brothers. Haha. Also there was a milkman down the road who let us help ourselves to the milk in his big refrigerated cellar - we were supposed to leave money in a little plastic tray.....I think I had more out of that than I ever got off my folks!

None. Lots of chores but never got paid money for it. Just a treat from the grocery store.

None, I always had to ask. As a result I had no idea how to manage money when I left home.
