there is a building in my city that is soposivly haunted. when I grow up I want to be a parapsychologist. because I beleive in ghosts, I want the skeptical side of all of the the phenomena. please try to give a reasonalbe explanation of the following,
1) an apparition of a man has been seen
2) showers turn on by themselves
3) objects move on their own
4) people feel like they are being pushed
5) I saw a "mini-movie" of a girl being killed a plus the mirror shattered in my face by its self as soon as the vision ended
6) moaning has been heard when no one is persant.
(any rude answers like, "you are just insane" will be reported.)

well i beieve there is something else there but here is what skeptics would say.

1) after a busy day and seeing so many people or just watching TV, maybe out of the corner of your eye you will see someone walking and you are just remembering someone you saw earlier, and you think you saw a ghost
2) also they believe a release in pressure might move the faucet, maybe a magnetic pull and such
3) same as above, maybe a passing car made enough movement (BULL)
4) some very hard to diagnose illness
5) they would say you made it up or the same as #1 you saw a movie long ago and had a regression
6) the wind, natural movement of home makes noises recognizable as moans

those are just some theories o fhte skeptics but i'm not sure myself of the truth but woudln't it be fun to come back as a ghost and pull someone's pants off in the middle of the street? LOL

Instead of addressing each item specifically, I will address the nature of the problem: all of these assume what you are trying to prove.

Let's fix this ok?

1) someone says they saw an apparition of a man
2) someone claims to have been standing right next to the shower viewing the knob, when the knob moved on its own and the water started.
3) someone claims to have seen an object move on its own.
4) some people say they felt as if they were pushed
5) don't understand what happened here (was the "mini movie" something you saw in your head, you say you had a vision?
6) someone claimed to hear moaning.

First on all the claims by other people there is a problem of reliability. Most people aren't scientists and aren't reliable as eyewitnesses. People make mistakes.

As far as your vision, it is more likely that you had a psychological experience and the mirror breaking was a coincidence.

If you are really interested in studying paranormal claims I think it would be a good idea for you to get a philosophy back round in college. I say this because you will need a thou rough understanding of epistemology and hypothetico deductive reasoning to apply to this suspect area of study. Also, you would be able to approach the field from a new direction. Good luck.

I beleive in ghost but I do know there are a lot of things that look like a ghost did it but did not. I have no idea if what is happening is a real haunting. I would have to be there and look into it myself. Try taking a recorder in to the place ask who's here will you say something ask why its there go back home and play the tape see if anything comes up.

According to some people like American Indians there are those who have certain stealth abilities who can do special effects like this and because they have a twisted sense of humor and are bored. Budd Hopkins wrote a book called; Sight Unseen. They used to do this to me when I was a little kid with snakes flying thru the air. Some of these events can be hauntings of the spiritual kind but it's my understanding that their abilities for moving things isn't very strong usually. I'm satisfied that there's something out there doing bizarre things. Maybe one day you will too.

I don't know that these things actually happened. Eye-witness accounts of these sorts of things are often proven to be wrong.
