always remember this: TWO NEGATIVES EQUAL A POSITIVE.
so +12 - -7 = is the same as 12 + 7 because it is
12 minus a negative 7. TWO NEGATIVES EQUAL A POSITIVE.
so the answer is 19.

When you are subtracting a negative, you always turn the two - signs into +. To take away a negative is to add something.
So + 12 - - 7 is really +12 + 7. I think you can figure it out from there :)

I am probably wrong, but when you subtract to a negative number, the result is positive. so +12 - - 7 is 12 +7!

12 - -7 = 19.
The reason it is 19 instead of 6 is because you are subtracting a negative, so instead of subtracting the 7 you'll add it.

Think of the two minus signs like taking away a debt. If you removed a debt, you'd end up ahead.
