Not being dead.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Life is life. You might as well ask 'What is the meaning of triangle?' We don't question triangles, we just accept that they exist, they have three sides and go on. Sometimes people can ascibe some sort of symbolism to a triangle if they are so inclined, but it doesn't change the essential nature of the thing at all. Why should life be any different?

To us humans the meaning is to gain experience and develop our personalities for further worlds.Life doens't really have a meaning like "I'm meant to become a doctor" or anything like that.If you whant to find an answer for yourself study the laws of nature and the universal laws (like gravity).
A show on Discovery finalez with: the pourpose of human life exists for one singel reason: because there is a being on this earth capable of asking: What, why ?
Another analogy would be this, why do plants live ? why does a dog live ?
Put a little tought into it and you'll find your answer.
Oh and another thing,I am not saying that God doesn't exist ;) .

The meaning of life is found in the purpose of life, which is to love and serve God and enjoy His blessings forever. Then life has significance, because you are doing things that have an eternal impact.

The meaning of life is walking a journey that takes you to many places of acceptance, happiness and learning. Once we stop learning we die. Once we stop accepting we die and when all the happiness is gone...yep we die
