Is she pay for everything for your living expend? I don't think a 17 years old would have that big pay check. I think what ever, it is cheap compare to live on your own. Did you hold up some information? What do you do that she have to take your whole pay check for it. What kind of punishment?

Well, speaking as a Mother, I think so. But, I would not take it for punishment. I would take it for car insurance and and car payment. Things that are a privelege for you to do and not a right for you to do. Like food is o.k....but I don't want to feed all your friends over the weekend either. Stuff like that. I have go arounds with my kids over this stuff. My son now knows, if he does not come up with insurance money on his own by March, his car will be cancelled and we will take whatever means we have to, to protect ourselves from a lawsuit. Since we are the responsible parties for him now being underage. Not that we don't want to pay it, we can't. So if he wants to continue driving, he must pay for it on his own. We agreed to help get him started and then he has to pay or he doesn't drive. So, I would for stuff like that. Hope you work this out with your Mother. Good luck.

I doubt she can legally do it - there are laws protecting minors' earnings against parental abuse.
Even if she takes it, she'll have a tougher time trying to do anything with it, since it's not made out to her.
Just the same, if your mother feels free to even make the threat, look into opening a free checking account with direct deposit. I'm not sure if you need to be 18 to do that, but it's worth a shot.

yes legally that is okay. You aren't supposed to be responsible for money that you make till you're 18. Until then, your parents can do whatever they want with it.
