MySpace is being sued for 2 girls(see the link that redman left in their answer) that met someone on MySpace and were sexually assaulted.

I think that when something like that happens that it's a combination of being the kid's fault for giving out their personally identifiable information on their MySpace page for hundreds of predators to see and it's also the parent's fault for not paying attention to what their kids are doing online.

I think the only reason MySpace is being sued for such things is because the parent's don't want to admit that they weren't paying more attention to their kid's online activities and it's easier to blame someone else.

Situations like what happened to these 2 girls don't just happen on MySpace. It could happen anywhere on the internet. The reason MySpace is getting so much blame is because it's so popular among teenagers.

MySpace and parents need to work together to teach kids what they should not be putting on their MySpace page.

I found a great video about this subject. It's called "Social Networking: What Parents Need to Know" You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7ifJjA9UWY

I hope this helps.

i asked myself this question too. They are getting sued because a few teenage girls got raped from someone they met on myspace. If you ask me myspace had NOTHING to do with it.It was the girls' stupid *** idea to give out there address or meet someone somewhere.I mean i had a myspace for awhile now and haven't been harmed.
