Some of us do, though we are a minority. Sadly, proper grammar is also not a high priority.
My 12yo can't understand how people don't know how to spell... his thought is that it's all due to the fact that phonics are no longer taught in most schools. Mean mommy that I am, I made him learn to spell the old fashioned way at home. So far, he's never gotten lower than a 95 on a spelling test.
We can blame it on the education system... and just plain LAZINESS. I mean, really... it's so much harder to type ARE than it is to type R. And that spell check button? It's so hard to use!!! Sorry... that was my sarcastic side. I'll try to keep it under control.

I do my best to write clear and concise sentences, but most people can identify with abbreviations and misspelled words. If I am really passionate about a subject, it can take me a half hour or more just to finish, because I want to get my point across.
I do my bestist to spit clear joints, but most peeps can already feel whut I'm sayin, ya know? When my feelings is on lock about sum stuff, it can hold a brotha up a minute, cause I want you to feel me.
I basically said the same thing.

Yes, I am a very good speller. I am in 7th grade and just won my school spelling bee (5th through 8th grade) a couple of days ago, and am going to be in the regional bee in March.
