If you make the effort you will be rewarded by becoming a better person. It may not make sense to you now.

Wow! Poor you! A whole day sitting on you a.. learning about a whole variety of subjects and most likey for free!! I wish.
Be grateful you're not squeezing up a chimney to clear the soot as children did almost within a greatgran's time.
Or maybe think of all the kids maybe age 6 going off to do a 12-hour shift in a factory for less than the cost of your gum today in many Eastern countries.
I know I sound preachy but I wish there was a way to make people of the Western world (to which I belong too) realise the extent of suffering and poverty that there is elsewhere in the world - they aren't another species - the people enduring this are the same as us at another time - those who survived (or didn't)their travels across "The Dustbowl" of America, all the immigrants to U.S and elsewhere, the Irish dying in ditches in the famine. You are young and think "oh history - booooring" but we are all making history with our various stories and if you go back just a few generations your own family will have suffered too.
Okay I AM preachy tonight but it's all true and the lack of appreciation for the excesses of our lives today while so many live as our ancestors (not prehistoric - great-great-grandparents maybe) did and we could do sooo much - and don't - really bothers me. Apols if you are just a teenager who feels lethargic - it happens to us all - but get up and DO something before you are trapped in the material world.

Well don't bother then!!
You can just lay in bed all day.
Then in 10 years time when all your friends have got interesting and well paid jobs and are all looking forward to retiring at 40 where will you be?
You'll be doing 10 hour shifts in some pokey factory for a pittance with no prospect of retiring till your at least 70.
Work hard now and reap the benefits later!

7:45! I'd love to lie in that long.
Wait til you get a job and join the real world.
Some people have done a couple of hours' work by then.

It is not fun... so enjoy your lie ins while you have them.

you have to do it- whether you like it or not. it takes me two hours to get to university by bus and for a 9.00am lecture or seminar i have to get up and leave my parents house at 7.00am. sorry but that's life . wait until you get older and the boss expects you at work at 8.00 or even 6.00 in the morning. and if you don't do it, you'd get the sack. school is a different thing but still, if you don't stick to the regime of getting up and attending school, you'll never do well in your studies. therefore, for furture reference, do bear that in mind

I used to feel that way too. Then I dropped out and wound up 19, pregnant, and on welfare. In retrospect, I shoulda dragged my sorry butt in there every day and given it my best shot.
