Man, the Beatles suck a_s, but they are from England so I guess they fit right in over there. They are the end of the line. The far end, lol. Even farther back than boy george. The only music to come out of England that is worth a sh_t is from the Stones. HELLO

Bob Dylan

Added: Regarding the Funk Brothers below. They were the house band of Motown and would be higher than the Beatles if they were included. Although James Jamerson would then be in that position for being the only Funk Brother to play on nearly everything regarding Funk Brothers.

Good choice though and they should in fact be allowed. The Beatles are nothing compared to the Funk Brothers regarding hit songs. Paul McCartney is nothing compared to James Jamerson.

The Funk Brothers sold more records than the Beatles, Stones, Dylan and Elvis combined.

Rolling Stones, Eagles, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Elvis, The Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, and probably some bands or singers I've never heard of.

Tough call. I'd have to say The Who for pure listenability, you can pretty much put on any of their 20+ albums and love 90% of what you hear. Their longevity, variety, edginess, and consistent popularity narrowly nudge out Led Zeppelin (less of all 4, but classically good stuff) and the Stones (less variety, more popular).
