My dad is turning 35 and he is really picky so I bought him a pair of 50$ shoes....(that is 50.00).They are a really good name brand but my dad is not into really "fancy" stuff......SO DO YOU THINK IT WAS THE RIGHT GIFT??? I just want to know your opinion

Thankies

in my oppinion i think you should get him a giftcard. just to be safe. i mean, even though your his daughter and you probably know the kind of stuff he likes, it's not very fun to have to return a gift someone doesn't like.

Yea why not, He can always return them under the guise of not fitting. It also depends on the type of shoe though. If they are some kind of young stylish wear he may not want to wear them since other adults would think he isn't acting his age. If they are just good shoes that he can wear out and don't look like something a young punk would wear he will probably be fine with it.

As a 35 year old Dad I would say there are better choices out there. I am sure he will appreciate the shoes though. I would get a gift geared towards your Dad's hobbies or if is clothes a nice sweater or jacket.

Shoes can be a pretty good gift, but if I were going to buy shoes for someone, they'd probably be for a woman. For a guy, I might buy a watch, or maybe take them out for dinner at their favorite steak house. That's what I used to do with my dad... we'd visit a steak house called Diamond Lil's. And, at least most of the time, I could get away with paying the bill when he wasn't looking; other wise, he'd sneak off and pay it when I wasn't looking... we were strange that way. But, I dunno what your dad's like. Maybe he'd be happy with shoes. This is probably something you should be asking him.

mhm...do you remember your dad being picky with shoes? if he is picky with shoes (like me) then it probably wasn't a good idea to get a gift like that. ask him if he liked them and tell him if he doesn't you can bring them back, then just give him the $50 and he can buy his own pair of shoes or something else:)

If he's picky, maybe u should've given him a gift card so that he can pick out some shoes on his own, or maybe something else he might want.

I think if he's picky, you should've bought a gift card. But trust me since he's your dad he will still tell you he likes 'em. You just have to look through him and see what he is thinking inside. ( facial expression! )

There's a difference between "fancy" and "quality." Purchasing your father a pair of expensive, yet high quality shoes is a wise and practical purchase. one he'll appreciate.
