My ball python once went almost two months in the winter the breeder we got him from said this is fine after two months is when to worry. Unless you notice other signs that something is wrong.

Do yourself a favor and ignore the post telling you to take it to a vet. It is too soon to worry. A snake can go several months without eating. If your snake is not showing any other indications (such as puss from its mouth or off-balance), then relax a while. Try feeding it a smaller mouse/rat....just in case your snake got skiddish. Also, if your snake did get skiddish and if you use live mice, sling the mouse head against the floor to slow it down a bit. Anyway, like other overall wise post state, dont worry until it has been 2 months at least. Good luck.

I think "Florida Hottie" has hit the nail on the head. Usually when a snake is ready to shed his skin, the eyes look kind of milky and dull. Also, I have know snakes to go the whole winter without eating without any ill effects. Their metabolism is so slow that they can go a long time without food, but make sure he/she has plenty of clean water and offer food at least weekly. They usually start getting active and moving around a lot when they get hungry.

2 weeks isn't a protracted time in any respect. Even new born hatchlings can actually bypass months without ingesting till now they lose substantial weight. some snakes will end ingesting for the period of and only till now their shed. that's a number of feeding classes in case you feed weekly. whilst they shed, they're going to often consume besides the reality that i've got had a pair that could especially circumstances wait each and every week after laying off till now ingesting. At a year previous, your snake ought to easily consume each and every 2-3 weeks and be superb. i could only grant a humid disguise, or gently spray the cage once or twice an afternoon to help develop the humidity slightly till the snake does shed. as long as she is appearing regularly otherwise, i does no longer concern.

It is not cause for alarm. Give your snake another week to see if it will eat. If it has not eaten after that then I would check with my vet or a good reptile person in my area. They may suggest force feeding. If they do follow their directions very carefully but give your snake a month before getting concerned.

Most snakes can go up to a year without eating depending on how active he is, It also may be he is getting ready to shed his skin at which case he will not eat.

If there is a vet that will see snakes in your area take him there. The only other thing I can think of is keep trying to feed it everyday.

Maybe he is getting ready to shed, they don't eat before that. Or, maybe due to the cold and lack of movement he is just not hungry. He will eat when he is ready, offer again in a couple of days.

dont panic. during the winter snakes have a decreased appetite. plus he might be ready to shed. anyway, better to underfeed for a while than to kill him with obesity! he'll be fine
