It doesn't make clear where the classroom is in relation to the hall. Is it part of the hall, in the hall, near the hall?

The classroom is located in the southern end of the school building where the entire hall is referred TO as "the art hall." The students that are commonly found mingleing in the art hall are referred to as "the art kids."

I would divide it into two separate sentences & I would change "hanging around" to something that sounds a little more politically correct. Just my opinion. Hope I helped.

Kind of You might want to break it down so it sounds like.....

The classroom is located in the southern end of the school building where the entire hall is referred as the "art hall". All the student hang around the hall as the "art kids".

If you only need one sentence then add commas!

The minimum correction needed for grammar is at the end -- the hall are known as the "art kids".

Here is other possibility:

The classroom is located in the south end of the school building in the hall referred to as, "the art hall", while the students hanging around the hall are known as, "the art kids”.

note the punctuation around the quotes, however you really don't need them.

The classroom is located in the south end of the school building in the hall referred to as the art hall, while the students hanging around the hall are known as the art kids.

This one is OK, too.
