My grandmother passed away 12 yrs ago and I think she predicted her own death. Here's the story: My grandmother's health was detoriating and she was bed ridden for about 2 years. I was sleeping over that night and she kept a mattress in her closet which i went to get. When I entered her room, i felt a strange feeling, like something wasn't right. Then my grandmother asked me "why are you being so rude, why don't you give these people a drink." "The people" she was referring to were family members of ours that were already dead. That night she also said she was going to leave with them, basically like, she was going to die that night. I didnt believe her and neither did everybody else. We just thought she was going senile, but the next morning we found her dead in her bed. Do you think its possible that she knew she was going to cross over to the other side?

Absolutely she knew she was dying.
Go yo a hospital and talk to a nurse, and see if she will share some stories with you.
The night before a lot of people die; they tell their family to go on home and get some rest that they will talk to them in the morning, then die that very night when no one is around.

This is very much like an animals behavior. If a dog or cat is severely injured or cancer ridden and about to die, it will go someplace to be alone, almost as if it predicted it. I believe that people can do this to an extent, and it isn't actually a prediction, but the mind knowing that it has accomplished all it could in its time, and telling the body. Your grandmother was responding to her mind, and as a group of animals that is more close to each other, when would tell another of this, where as domesticated animals may feel they have been seperated from their pack or family.

I personally believe in life after death. I was friends with the Ed and Lorraine Warren (famous ghost hunters) Lorraine once said that our bodies are like cars, and our soul is the driver. When our car runs out of gas, we get out of the car and walk the rest of the way. She said we definatly go to another place. She was psychic. She said we don't die alone, our departed family members will be there to welcome us. Maybe at the end your grandmother was comunicating with someone from the other side. I do think it's possible, but who can prove it? We'll all find out the truth some day.

When I was very young my last pair of grandparents died. My grandfather went first. The thing that sticks in my mind the most was the fact that the night before he died he said he was visited by an angel.
Later the following day he said he was visited by the Virgin Mary. She told him everything will be okay.
I prefer to believe that he did have an experience like this, and was comforted by our dieties. Another side of me will also guess that while his body was slowly shutting down, at that moment events in his brain were not exactly matching up and could have caused him to expierience what many others do as well.

We choose what to believe in life... and in my humble opinion, it is very possible that your grandmother knew in advance. Faith is a trust in something without proof. This falls into that category.

it certainly seems that people can fight lifes inhibitions to an extent. the will to live, in my opinion, can be a substantial barrier for death once old age begins to settle. of course, the will deteriorates as death becomes inevitable. it is an odd thing. my grandfather was hospital ridden for the majority of the last year of his life. my father spent a lot of time with him at the hospital. eventually, my grandfather passed away. many years later, my father explained to me that my father knew my grandfather was going to die the night he did. he told me that before my grandpa died he called him to come shave him. my dad explained that my grandfather had done the same thing to my great grandfather the night before he died. i think intuitively, we can sense our ability to hang on. i took that "come shave me" was code for "im not going to make it through the night, im going to die with as much dignity as possible."
so yes, i do believe we have an intuitive ability to know when the end is coming. i don't think your grandmother was talking to passed relatives, but we really can't know that for sure. senility, in my opinion comes and goes. we all thought my 98 year old great grandmother had pretty much gone off her rocker once she was in the nursing home. but i can clearly remember visiting her and she had to remind me that it was groundhog's day(it was feb. 2). they say that when you begin to die, your brain begins to misfire meaningless synapses, causing a mass recall of jumbled memories. literally your life flashes before your eyes. this is why they say people tend to look beyond any relative point of reference (like a blind person does) while they're dying, and begin saying things that don't make sense. but like i said earlier, everyone who has experienced this cannot write an academic thesis on the topic so we probably will never know.

Yes, possible. She knew she was going to die soon. She could have had visions or just hallucinations. There is no way of really "knowing" until you experience it yourself. Until then, you can believe in anything you want.

What an awesome experience!! Our already deceased family and friends will come for us when we die, nobody leaves this world alone. Always remember this, I'm sure your grandmother will be one of them that comes after you when you die. She was just almost gone that's why she could see them. :)

I believe it! Not sure what happens to people in their last hours, but, I believe. My Grandma was in the hospital with an aneurysm on her aorta and we knew it was just a matter of time. That night in the hospital she kept reaching out for something. I asked what she was reaching for.....and she kept saying Jesus...can't you see him? Yup....I'm a believer.

There's a lot of people that predict their death. Most people can feel death coming. But yes, it is possible.

Yes, she may have known, but there's nothing paranormal about it, becaus she was predicting her own state of being. It's not strange to have insights about yourself, it would be paranormal if somebody else predicted her death. Or at least more likely to be paranormal.
