He meant it just the way he said it. I was watching Jon Stewart with Biden. I was appalled at his statement. His ignorance is ASTOUNDING. His statement just underscored his prejudice. To me the most negative stereotype in his statement was ARTICULATE!! All black people don't go "yo-yo" or "what's up" man. I found that truly offensive. The whole statement pissed me the HELL off and I hope he does not win the Democratic ticket. Obama is NOT the 1st articulate, bright, clean or mainstream black person. There have been plenty of others. From Malcolm X to Martin Luther King to many more African Americans not just in politics. I hate when people try and sugar coat their words by APOLOGIZING and saying that is NOT what I meant. Lets see the list Trent Lott, the frats at Auburn and Alabama for the racist parties, Mel Gibson, and most recently KRAMER. Say what's on your mind and mean it. I would respect an OPEN racist more than a CLOSET racist any time. It let's me know where I stand. Racism is still alive folks. Black folks are not getting the OVERT racism as in the past (lynched, killed, or what ever else ) but institutional racism (the kind that silently cuts you with words..then kind that you can't see as easily) is very PERVASIVE.

Come now if Jesse Jackson can over look this "gaffe" or slip of the tongue - you can get over it and admit it was just a misunderstanding.

God help us if a republican had said it - no excuse in the world would ever make it go away.

Senator Biden said even though he wasn't misquoted his words were misunderstood. Senator Biden apologized if he offended anyone, but stood by his position that Clinton and Edwards are wrong on Iraq.

"It was a gaffe. It was not an intentional racial pejorative statement,"Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson told NBC News. "It could be interpreted that way. But it's not what he meant."

Are you dirty because your black? If the answer is no, then dont let it affect you. Why do you care what a stupid politician thinks. Remember all politicians are out for THEMSELVES and no one else. Think abou it Ray Nagin is black and when Katrina came along he got HIS family out before even helping out anyone else. Its called S E L F I S H.

I'm sure you don't really believe this. What he was trying to say was that Barama was free of any skeletons in his closet,(unlike some of the other potential candidates).

Mommy, why does everyone keep misinterpreting things on purpose even though they know their original intent?

Here are a couple definitions of "clean" from the dictionary.
-characterized by a fresh, wholesome quality
-morally pure; innocent; upright; honorable:
-showing good sportsmanship; fair

Why do you have to pick one that makes him look like a bad person?

By clean he meant not corrupt.

Jesse Jackson is corrupt, therefore unclean.
