Can anyone tell me what is happening in 5 days because i'm really not following it. Who killed her and why?

It was confusing, but i think the jist of the story is this;
It was the cigarette smuggler and the man who stole the kids who were in the blue flower van. they got into an argument cos she said it was killing her grandad (due to the cigarettes). they took her and the little girl to the caravan - leanne was still alive at that time. the husbands army friend had something to do with it as well - he knew she was still alive when they dumped her body in the lake - dont quite understand that bit. Hope that helps!!!!
