The circumference of a circle is pi times the diameter of the circle (or two times pi times the radius). Pi is approxiately equal to 3.14.

The Greek letter Pi represents the ratio of the circumfrence to the diameter of a circle. Roughly equal to 3.14. So, if you take the diameter x 3.14 you come up with the circumference. Thanks for the points.
