Ok, I'm a goalkeeper in soccer so that's what i'm going to talk about.
First, don't be scared. the no guy that will the ball hard enough to kill you. And dive without fear also, it doesn't hurt.
If your a natural goalie, you'll have some kind of reflexes. But to improve, make someone home or at practice to kick two balls, 3 seconds apart. That will get you going. Also, stretch a lot. don't let your mucles get cold in a game, cuz you definitely don't want a cramp no where.
Well good luck

because you dont have much time.. all i am going to tell you is get your body in frot of the ball!! That is the key. As a goalie you need to sacrafice your body in order to be successful. Now i am not saying kill yourself to defend your net but try everything you can to not let that ball get by you. Another piece of advice new or unexperienced goalies tend to forget is that YES you can use your hands.. dont lunge at the ball with your feet.. it is almost 90% certain that they will get by you if you just stab at it with your foot. DIVE, COLLAPSE ON THE BALL... just do what you have to do to make sure the ball doesnt make it past you. Also keep in mind that if the player with the ball gets to you your defense is not doing their job properly.. it has to go through an entire team before its gets to you.. so if they do end up scoring dont be too hard on yourself. GOOD LUCK!!

1) Work on reflexes. IF you dont have good reflexes, your in trouble
2) Practice Easy saves, jumps(very important) and dives
3)THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: positioning. Otherwise your out in nomans land looking like a fool while your getting scored on.
4)Distribution. Basically get accuracy on punts, throws and goalkicks.
