I would take your question to be "what would it cost you to have the struts changed" Auto Zone carries the struts for about $55 each + tax. To get the job done at a midas or other location you may be looking at 300-500. If done at an independent. it depends on the charges that are agreed by you. and remember when the struts are changed. you will need a wheel alignment.

The last time I bought them for my escort they were around $65.00 dollar each. That was 5 yrs ago. I can only assume that for the probe they will cost more. You must remember you will still have to have them installed somewhere. Garage hourly rates can very from $35.00 per/hr to $110.00.

If you plan on installing them your self get a manual for the car. ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST!!! You can check with your local auto parts store for after market struts they may be more affordable to you. Also I don't know what kind of trouble you are having with the cars front end. It may not be the struts depending on what it is doing. I can only assume that you have had it checked out and some mechanic told you it needed struts.

I would ask you to first think if the car is worth the money to be spending between $250.00 to $500.00 dollars on it. You might be wiser to spend that money on a down payment on a newer car. I can get just about any make of car in the 1990's that will pass inspection for around $500.00 dollars I would think you should be able too. Its just a thought...Good luck with the repair...

I'm not sure, but a Ford dealer should be able to give you an estimate. And sometimes they find other things that should be serviced. They won't know until they inspect it.
