while it's not advised to lose weight by any means, it can be relatively normal. take a few minutes to think about what you've been doing lately...

do you have morning sickness? is it keeping you from eating as much as you used to? worse, is it preventing you from keeping food down at all?

these are common reasons why women lose a pound or more in the first trimester, and it's really nothing to be alarmed about (the weight loss that is). if you're not eating/keeping food down the way you used to, ask your doctor to refer you to a nutritionist who can help you figure out the best diet for your stomach to handle, and what sorts of foods you can get the most nutrients out of when you can keep them down.

also try and remember that we tend to weigh more in the afternoon after we've been eating than we do first thing in the morning. did you get weighed before you went to the bathroom one time and after you went the second time? that's a common .5 - 1 pound loss right there... what about clothes? were you wearing a thick heavy sweater or big chunky boots the first time around?

again, one pound is nothing to worry about, but if what caused that drop is eating related it's a good idea to be a bit concerned, but don't stress or you'll wind up with even worse eating habits and even more weight loss!

good luck, and congratulations

No it could have been water weight. You don't gain alot in the beginning of pregnancy. The futher you get the more you will gain. Like in the last like 4 to 8 weeks you are supposed to ain a pound a week. Me when I was 36 weeks I was 174 now this last visit (37 wks) I was 177. I started out around 140. I know in one month I once gained like 11 pounds. I'm not swelling or looking fatter. I'm all belly and boobs and now the belly is over taking the boos by far. When I went to the dr the first time I was around 140 I was 11 weeks. I didn't gain anything until closer to 20 weeks. Dont worry unless the dr tells you to.

No I wouldn't be. When I first got pregnant I think I gained like 5 or 6 lbs and then I lost them all and was less than before I got pregnant. Now I'm 22 wks and have only gained two pounds. The doctors don't seem to be worried as I was about a size 14 before so I probably was overweight for my height. I have a feeling things will change quickly for me as they probably will for you too as well.

I didn't really feel like I was showing around 15wks and then suddenly around 16-18wks I just popped out.

Congratulations and good luck with everything!

it is completely normal!i lost 5 pounds in my last 2 pregnancies during the 2 trimesters.it was due to awful morning sickness.but even after that went away after vomiting for 5 or 6 mon you still cant eat alot at once!i gained 20 pounds with my last preg and only 10 with this one.the doc said this baby is at least 8 pounds!so as long as youre being healthy you can still have a healthy baby without gaining 60 pounds!however purposly trying to lose weight is never a good idea!but you dont have to eat twice as much just cause youre pregnant either!good luck!

there is no such element as a secure zone, there is always available of miscarriage and stillbirth in being pregnant, after week 14 the possibilities of miscarriage decrease because the placenta is totally operating now and your hormones pass again to a common aspect. do not hassle about it, all people receives scared, i do not understand any mom who wasn't fearful of upcoming ultrasounds etc. Your well being care specialist not in any respect listened for the pulse once you've been round 10 weeks because now and again at that gestation this is troublesome to discover it, this is more straightforward from 12 weeks onwards. this is common so that you'll be able to be worrying, the percentages of miscarriage now might want to be about 2% even besides the actual shown reality that you're not in any respect truly secure.

I lost almost 15lbs before I started to gain some back. The doctors thought that I was trying on purpose, but I swore to them that I wasn't. I was terribly sick from the morning sickness and NOTHING sounded good to eat so I ate very light but made sure to get something on my stomache. Everyone is different and it could be that the date of the first weigh-in you may have been a little bloated or even had a ful stomache from lunch or something. You should be fine.

Extremely normal. Some women tend to loose a few pounds in the first 3 months. You should start gaining real soon now that you're hitting your second trimester. I wouldn't worry about a pound or even 5, anything more though, i would talk to your doc.

It's normal. Relax.
You have six more months to gain the weight., so don't worry about this. If there was a big problem, your doctor wouldn't have let you go without informing you of the risks.
It really is okay to lose a pound or two here and there.

No. I didn't gain any weight with my first until I was in my 5th month. Some women even lose during their first trimester. I have known some that with morning sickness lose up to 10 pounds and still in the end have healthy babies.

Some times you lose weight at first because you are eating better. Most of us eat better when we are pregnant so the right diet could cause you personally to lose some weight without hurting the baby.
