If the arrow points horizontally to the right, it indicates the direction of the reaction. If there are double horizontal arrows pointing left and right, it means there is a dynamic equilibrium between the two sides. depends on how many arrows
two arrows going opposite ways means that the equation can go both forward and backwards (its reversible) and also its in equilibrium
if its one arrow then it shows the steps the equation follows and its not reversible.
