...after about 50MPH, it is not as spectacular. Right off the line, the car feels like a 5.8 second 0 - 60 car, but on the highway, it feels more like a 7 second 0 - 60 car. Any idea why this might be?

I am not so sure why it may be. Maybe you just expected more from your car. I have one myself in black! :) I think that you should check out www.redlineforums.com where you can talk to people that have ion redlines. You could do some upgrades like getting a stage 2 updgrade for your supercharger with some other mods which may put you out at nearly 260 bhp. My user name is mrjuancarlos. You can send me a private message if you need any help. I have no complaints about mine... it pulls nicely.

I Am Not Familiar With Saturn's But I Asked A Similar Question To My Mechanic About My Supercharged Monte Carlo, He Said A Car Will Seem To Have More Power Going From A Stop To 60 Rather Than Trying To Gain Speed On A Highway! Maybe It's Just A Mental Thing!

Auto or Stick? Cant remember exactly what the displacement on those is, but saturns unfortunately arent really known for great speed.. if you know how to work on cars, id recomend changing out your drive belt pulleys (underdrive) which helps reduce the load on the engine.. Cold air intake would help, but keep in mind- yes more air means more power..thats true.. but ur fuel/air ratio is still controlled by car's computer, so more air=more gas.. so mileage goes down..
Other that that.. if you want something thats good on the highway - get a bmw 3 series manual.. its pretty good off the line, but the highway is where u feel like a king.. most 4 cylinders out there cant touch it.. trust me on that one - tested :)

Mainly in gear ratios...the actual 0-60 time is like 6.3 seconds. But since most people never push higher speeds (75+). They geared the car for power down low.

I like cars and I like troubleshooting auto problems. BUT I do not have an answer for you, sorry. Rather, I wanted to tell you that I like your avatar's scuba mask. Very original!

because it feels that way because the highway looks longer than it is.
