I stayed at Rockhouse several years ago and found it to be a wonderful experience. You must not fear gecko's, however....
I understand the property has been "upgraded" recently and I see the prices have gone up but just the location and ambience alone would be a recommendation. I loved the solitude. One caution; there is no beach on the property. Swimming is perfect but is very rocky with steps going to the water. There is a small beach nearby - about a 20 minute walk.

I was in Negril a few months and I picked up a brochure. The property looks beautiful and there's a grea sunset view too. Check Trip Advisor.

Go to TripAdvisor.com and you will find dozens of reviews written by previous visitors. You can see photos they have posted in the "candid traveler photos" section and you can also ask questions in the "forums" section. It is a great site to research resorts and areas. One category they rate places is on "romance." The ratings are based on the ratings given it by previous guests.
