If you can get hold of a piece of software called 'Cubase' it has pretty much everything you would want in midi recording - Fruity loops is quite confusing if you don't know what you're doing, and we use Cubase in our music technology lessons, you can just select your midi input from a drop down list, easy program.

Hope I helped

I am not quite understanding your problem. You have the software at the link below? And a MIDI to USB connector?. This is how it should be done - the MIDI/USB connector connects OUT to IN and IN to OUT on the CASIO - and the USB to the PC. The software (mixcraft) may have a DEVICE option which chooses where it picks up and sends data to - this may need setting up. Recording ought to be a matter of pressing RECORD on the software and pressing keys on the CASIO. I am not sure what you mean by "it only gives me the keys which I can use on my mixcraft"? In MIDI - no sound is actually recorded - MIDI records your actual activity on the keyboard - which keys and chords are depressed etc. The sound is regenerated when the MIDI signals are played back to the CASIO. It appears that MIXCRAFT has audio recording ability - some newer MIDI programs also are able to record the actual sound of the equipment - in which case you'd need the AUDIO out or Headphones socket of the CASIO connected to the PC AUDIO in or EXT socket - and double click the VOLUME icon and configure the MIXER sliders on both PLAY and RECORD to accept the input from the EXT socket on the PC - then you may need to assign a track to AUDIO in mixcraft to actually record the sound from the CASIO. If this is not what you are asking - mail me across Yahoo QA.
