No - therapy is supposed to be a completely safe environment to talk about ANYTHING. If you don't feel that way at his/her office, get a new therapist.

I don't believe that anything is of limits when it comes to therapy. They one thing and the only thing that a counseller/therapist etc will share with others i.e. doctors is if you are suicidal. Or if you present a danger to someone and mean to cause them bodily harm then they can contact the police.

Actually, when I went to therapy, my therapist clued me in on a few things that aren't actually taboo, but can get you in trouble. One is if you admit to doing hard drugs or a lot of drinking and you have young children in your house. Another is threatening to kill someone or yourself. The final is if you confess to liking children in a sexual way, or confess to abusing your children mentally, physically, or sexually. If you confess to any of these, the therapist won't lash out at you, but he is required to report it to social services.

No, you should feel that you can discuss anything in therapy. That's what a therapist is for!! And trust me, you will not say anything that they probably haven't never heard.

whats the point of going to therapy if your not completely free with everything? When trying to solve things it may help to understand them by knowing everything.

I think maybe the psychologist's own dirty secrets. I don't think psychologists like to talk about their twisted sick perversions.
