anytime you put your body through something that poses some risk such as being overly tired, overly hungry, or cold, your immune system is weakened. the reason more people get sick in the wintertime is because of the fact that they are indoors and going in and out of doors makes it so that there is a concentration of germs inside which is really when you get sick. so yes, you should keep your immune system strong by covering up and especially your neck, so wear a scarf as well.

The temperature does not have anything to do with catching a cold. You must have exposure to the virus. There are no colds in Antarctica apart from those brought in by new arrivals.
Colds are more prevalent in winter in cold areas because people gather together more and spread germs more easily. In tropical areas, people gather more frequently in the summer, the wet season, to shelter from the rain rather than the cold and colds become a summer disease.

Scientists have for the most part said that the cold does not get you sick and it is viruses that do so. However, recently some European researchers claim that the weather can give you a cold after a experiment where they too half a group and put their feet in warm water. They took the other group and put their feet in freezing water. Needless to say those in cold water got sick. So my advise to you? Bundle up!

I have been told that the temperature does not make a difference to how suceptible you are to catching a cold. I believe otherwise.
Although I think the name is a bit misleading, I do believe that there is a correlation between the temperature outside and the liklihood of catching a cold. I belive that you somehow put more of a strain on your immune system when your body temperature decreases.
