is one particular job that will not cancel no matter what I do. That is stopping everything else from printing.

I thought about deleting the printer and re-installing it but I can not find the disk that came with it.

Any suggestions of what I can try?

(incase it matter it is an HP printer)

I am at work so I dont recall the exact model number but it is a 3 in 1 printer.
I dont use the printer alot so the thing that is stuck in the spool shows its been there since 10/06. I am just now getting to it.

I have a solution to that. Okay, unplug the printer and then on the computer click it then then click cancel. Can you update the question and give me the Model Number with the Name of the printer. So that you can reinstall the printer even if you don't have the disk. I can find it with my membership to a Driver site to download drivers. And then I'll give you the link and BAM!! Feel free to email me with questions.

You are right. You should delete the Printer driver and re-install it. The driver that you have may be older. HP should have the most up-to-date driver for your printer. This will eliminate all the guessing in trying to figure out what is conflicting w/ your printer. Hope this helps.

Power down both the computer and the printer and see if it clears up when you reboot.

If that doesn't work, Remove Hardware might actually work, since it should leave all of the appropriate drivers intact.

Power off the printer, disconnect the data cable, wait 3min., reconnect the data cable and turn the printer back on.

Try to power cycle the printer (unplug it from power for 15 sec).
