you need 2 take the tests plus a road test that,s the hard part, you need a truck and a cdl driver 2 get you there

Like the previous poster answered, check out the nydmv website. My hubby has his cdl in NY. He took a really long written test at the dmv to get his permit, and then took a road test. Just like getting your class c license, but harder.

Go to the DMV. You can look at their website first to see their requirements.
Note the website says "It is a violation of Federal law to hold more than one commercial driver license (CDL)."

the same way you get it in every other state. go to the motor vehicle department, take a couple tests, and you are set.
search NY DMV on teh internet. it should have plenty of info
