Avoid anxious classmates who are talking about the exam. These students only spread anxiety to you. If fear comes rushing in make a visualization of taking the exam and doing well and seeing an A on your paper. On the day of the test begin with a moderate breakfast and avoid caffeine if you are prone to jitters. Attempt to do something relaxing before the exam begins. Creating a calm outlook in your mind is better than last minute cramming. Arrive at your test location in advance in order to provide time for relaxation/calm. Remember to breathe deeply during the test and think through the questions. Always go with gut instinct and try to start out with the questions you are most confident with. This will help your overall progress of the test. Good luck on letting go of stress!

If you're taking the class seriously I don't think you can have NO stress. But to better MANAGE your stress:

1. Ask the instructor what the exam will cover. Yes, some are evasive, but some are very open and helpful.

2. Obviously, study as much and as hard as you can before. Except....

3. Get a good night's sleep the night right before. Extra study won't help you if you need coffee to stay awake later.

4. Randomly ask yourself questions from your book (easier with something like Math of course). See if you're getting most of them right.

5. Knowing the material starts when the instructor presents it. BE THERE (you'd be surprised how many people aren't then wonder why grades are poor). Don't just take notes, follow it. Ask questions. Lots of questions.

Hope that helped...

Exams will always be a part of your life. The first ones arent as stressfull because you're curious. As soon as you find out that "bad" things can come out (small grades or worse :p )you start to worry about what will happen. So the best way to avoid this is to make sure bad things won't happen: learn so you'll take the exam, always say you'll do well (thrust me it helps a lot) and most of all, ask God's help, if you deserve it you will do just fine ;) Now gotta go, Phisicks exam in 2...almost 1 day.

start studying beforehand. Don't leave it all up for the last day so you don't get caught up with a whole lot of work. Study a little bit every day, and it'll help you study your load. Make sure you get a good night's sleep the night before, have a good breakfast and most importantly, trust yourself.
