To katdaddy: I can't believe you told her to ask for navicular and flexion/extension views. Do you do x-rays because the patient asks for them? You really shouldn't do anything that the requesting physician doesn't specifically ask for.

well, you definitely have a problem there. a "hairline" fx of the wrist huh? does it hurt more in the joint, or below the joint? you could have fx'd one of your bones in your wrist, when you go to the hospital again, and just tell them you sent the check in the mail, or go to another hospital, ask the r.t. for a "navicular view" of the wrist. also, include flexion/extension views to better evaluate the area. but then again...sprains hurt as well. depending on your age, they can take longer to heal than a fx.

oh yeah, and jessie? obviously, she has had radiographs taken....nothing found. i suggested these views because they are helpful in ortho clinics in finding these sort of fx's. just because he/she is a m.d., doesn't make them an all knowing god.....remember.....you have docs that graduate at the top....and a lot at the bottom.
