I myself graduated at the age of sixteen and did just that without any problems.
So long as references are not required I fail to see how this would be an issue.

I don't know about Florida or Georgia, but in Texas they won't rent an apartment to a 16 year old. I tried to move out at 17, and some (not all) places told me I had to be emancipated from my parents first. Plus if you are going to college, alot of colleges require freshman to live in dorms. You should check the schools that you are looking at attending.
