I think that being mean, or just plain vivious, to Marcel was wrong. Whether to his face or behind his back. Since when did it become acceptable to treat people like crap just because they are arrogant?

Whether or not Marcel was arrogant, the whole series this year focused too much on how everyone felt about him instead of the cooking. The finale was a total farce. They made the other disqualified chefs work for him KNOWING that no one liked him. How did they think it would turn out?!!! He's a better chef than Elan, and I actually think that Mike and Sam purposely didn't do all they could to help Marcel win...like forgetting the fish. As the leader he really should have checked everything himself, but then again, like he said, he should have been able to trust his co-workers.

The way I look at it...

If Marcel was truly that bad, the show would have been edited with clips of him being outrageous all the time. What the producers did show, a lot more of, was how the other cooks hated him and complained about him.

Maybe he was the odd man out... being more to himself writing his poetry. I'm sure the other cooks thought he was snubbing them, thus feeding into their own insecurities.

They complained about him not helping... yet in the little clips/teasers, he's seen helping people plate their food.

It's obvious he knows something about cooking. He made it to the finale!

Also, reading Tom Colicchio's Bravo TV blog, if he had his way... He would have "fired" Cliff, Sam, Elia and Ilan from the show after the hair shaving incident. Technically, Marcel would have won then... but the producers wouldn't let Tom do that.

Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Everybody knows, even the last 4-5 Chefs that Marcel is a much better cook than them. That is why they were trying to get him out of there a.s.a.p. and in any possible way. They are not idiots, but I think at the end of the day it was pathetic to see someone like Elia (out of desperation) turn her back on him.For the producers should be a shame because again they did all for the ratings.

Marcel wasn't "bullied" just for the sake of bullying.
He was disliked by EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHEF!

Why do you think he was sooooooo disliked?
Marcel cheated early in the competition & that is why ALL the other chefs disliked him.
To keep the competition on an even playing field no contestant was allowed (prior to the finale) to bring or use any of their own ingredients or equipment or cookbooks or recipes.
Having any of these items would give one an unfair advantage.
ALL had to cook and/or create using the SAME products/utensils/equipment as the others.

Ever wonder why (according to him) Marcels ice cream, in episode 3, was the only one with a different consistancy?
Or he was the only one who could perform the infamous "foams" ?

Marcel was confronted & had ingredients confiscated.
He brought ingredients with him & was caught with them.

Why do you think Ilan tried to "foam" a salad dressing (unsuccessfully, I might add) ?
Do ya think he was trying to prove a point? That maybe Marcel was using additional ingredients that were not available to the others.....? Or did you see just the (much editted) version on TV that kind of looked like he was just mocking Marcel?

Marcel cheated PERIOD
& He admittedly tried to intimidate to throw other chefs off of their game.
His plan/ploy worked much to his own advantage & got him to the Finale.
Then, when he WAS ALLOWED to bring his little arsenal of chemicals........his only success with them was adding a chemical gum to fresh pineapple & calling it POI.

I really couldn't see him as an arrogant mean person.I could only see how all the others were reacting to him.It made me angry to watch how they were talking about him like he was a dog.I loved the show last season and almost quit watching it.If he had left earlier I would have, but him getting into the final two just proved he was better than those who abused him.I think he will be a better chef for this.He was able to stand there and take all the verbal abuse and keep smiling.I give him a hearty salute.

I know i was actually rooting for marcel. They other ppl came off like jerks because all they did was gossip behind his back and treat him like crap. They were idiots for making themselves look just as bad as him.

I think the behaviour was very bad this season. So he is young and arrogant, they should ignore him. Very immature of everyone.
