Normally at the end of a pregnancy you don't. As long as there was a strong heartbeat there should not be much to worry about. It happened to me with each of my 3 pregnancies.

hi
i had the same thing
the difference was i was in germany
i had a scan every week
then checked my placenta on a scan and it was calcified, this was picked up early on, so i was kept an eye on,
they did a dopple test i think it was called, it shows the flow of blood/oxygen to the baby through the umbilicol cord
i had my daughter 4 weeks early as she hadnt grown in 3 weeks, if i was you i would insist on the dopple test! and if they umm or ahh about anything, you say i want the baby now 37 weeks is an ok time! dont want to scare you that isnt my intent but i feel very strongly about the lack of tests in the uk!
i came back to uk at 7 1/2 months pregnant with my son.
the midwife couldnt even tell what way round he was.... i was shocked at the difference in technology
dont let them fob you off!
good luck xx
my daughter is 5 now and everything is perfect!
having a scan is the best thing i think!!

My daughter had a growth spurt at 22-24 weeks and got to be a month over the average growth and then didn't do much for the next 4 - 6 weeks, a very similar growth pattern happened with my second daughter, and at 21 weeks pregnant with my son it seems to be happening again.
Children don't grow at 'book' average percentiles, look at the average nursery class, they won't stick to what's expected of them . . . don't get hung up about it!!
I think kids just do what they want full stop.
Take care and good luck honey.

this happened to my wife only a few weeks ago when she was 24 weeks the midwife had said that our sons growth had slowed down however things have since picked back up again and although he isnt a big baby they are confident that he will be a healthy weight of about 6lbs. The scan will be to re-assure you and if worst comes to worst they may induce you but please dont worry am sure that your baby will be fine. good luck

i didn't grow much during my pregnancy, nor did my baby she was induced at 37 weeks and came out 5lbs 3oz and 17 inches long. She came out healthy but small. i took her home from the hospital 2 days later. she is now 7 months old and thriving. Don't worry yourself too much. Get an ultrasound if it would make u feel better.

37 weeks !! is your baby still moving inside you ? thats all you got to worry about, sounds normal as the same thing happened to my sister, she went to midwife the last four weeks of her pregnancy and her bump never altered in all that time. She went on to have normal daughter.... so please stop worrying, as long as you feel that all going alright inside you then ok. Take care and let me know the outcome if sent for a scan. Take care xxx

Yes, the same thing happened with my first one, the ultrasound showed the baby was growing, but my tummy was not growing as expected because of its position. She was born fine and no problems..

This happen to my sister. Everything went well. How far along are you? if there is a problem they will have to induce you. My sister was induced but it was only a few days before her due date. Good luck I am sure everything will be fine.
