Im a Bears fan and I must say! If it wasnt for Patriots, I dont know if i would be very confident in a BEARS WIN , LIKE I AM TODAY!!!! I think San Diego is just to much fire power to contend with. BUT i HAVE NO IDEA how the Patriots pulled it off, but YES I AGREE with you, Patriots knocked out the Chargers for the Colts. I also dont think the Colts would of gotten past the Chargers.
But since the Chargers are eliminated.. .THAT GOD! CUZ THE LOMBARDI IS COMING BACK TO CHICAGO!!!!
GO BEARS!

You had to bring this up....why?
j/k, still a little bitter.
Yeah, we were definitely the best team in the league (not just record, but best team). But we played pretty dumb --that always seems to be our problem - -a "lack of discipline" (if you can define that in a tangible sense) if you will. It does things like make our secondary look really bad (when actually we've got good talent there) or give up late leads (of course that was Marty-Ball too).
All I can say is that I agree that Rivers can only get better (said above) and hope that the offseason doesn't rob too many of our players (fans here have basically already accepted Donnie Edwards isn't coming back and Turner probably isn't either, but atleast we can get picks or something for Turner). I know people always said we had good depth @ LB, but that doens't mean the back-ups are ready to play against starters full-time (especially since we were minus both OLBs v.the Browns --this next season we play alot tougher teams).

They obviously were not the best team since they lost. So called best teams do not blow their chances. Pats are better than the Chargers, Colts are better than the Pats. That is how it works. You can 'what if' all you want but until they can produce on the field when it matters most they can not be called the best.

I think the 2001 Steelers were the best team in the NFL that year. They absolutely demolished the Ravens in the divisional game, but then choked against the Patriots who were an absolute fluke that year. The only reason they won that game was because of poor special teams play on the Steelers and Kordell getting back to his old interception-prone ways.

No, considering the Ravens beat the Chargers earlier this year when their old Offensive Coordinator was calling the plays. The Ravens were the best team to lose, but they lost to a much better team than the Chargers lost to... Colts are far better than the Patriots.

Oh its A! The day I see you root for the Eagles, is the day we will see the Niners in the Super Bowl. And I dont see that happening anytime in the near future.. Although they might stand a chance if 31 teams go on strike.

they were the most complete team but they are very heavy headed. they thought that they were the best and then the pats (my fav team) came in there and kicked them. the chargers have temper problems there were 2 personal foul penalties and many unecessary roughness calls. the chargers the whole game were trying to like beat up the patriots. the chargers would have beat the colts but they didn't get past the pats. so we can't actually say that they would have beaten the colts....i would like to think that though.
but
DA BEARS are gonna win all the way baby!!

Yeah, probably. They had the Pat beat then dumb luck took over. I think they could have taken the Colts. Well, they're a young team, they should be back next year. RIvers can only get better.

It was tough on Charger fans to see a team that good beat "themselves" in that game more than the Patriots did.
It was truly the worst time to self implode.
