"Cracked foundation" is just that. Houses built on a "slab" are considered on a "foundation". The soil drying out and shrinking away from the concrete will cause the slab/foundation to crack. The cracks will usually close back up when the ground again gets wet from rain. It happened to mine this summer, but the fall rains have closed the crack back up. If the cracks are excessive, you may need to get the slab/foundation repaired, which will cost big bucks.

I assume you mean house foundation. If so, it means it is cracked. The severity of the problem would depend on the type of foundation and the amount of damage. Plenty of houses are sitting on foundations that are not perfect. It can cause problems as small as a sag in the wall and roof to things like the house falling in. Moisture is a huge problem. Moisture can get into the foundation and rote more of it away. It can also seep into the house and cause mold.

cracks in the cement under your house. When the soil underneath is soft it can cause the house to become unstable and the foundation to crack. It can be reapired but it is very expensive.

It is a crack in the mortar work of your home. Under the house, there are bricks or cinder blocks and those have mortar between them. Sometimes this cracks. If this is on a home you're looking to buy, get a home inspector, bc it's never a good thing.

to recognize and diagnose various types of foundation failure or damage, such as foundation cracks, masonry foundation crack patterns, and moving, leaning, bulging, or bowing building foundation walls.
Types of foundation cracks, crack patterns, differences in the meaning of cracks in different foundation materials, site conditions, building history, and other evidence of building movement and damage are described to assist in recognizing foundation defects and to help the inspector separate cosmetic or low-risk conditions from those likely to be important and potentially costly to repair.
