Alan Keyes is the one who should be the most offended. He's the one with the most articulate campaign, who's as clean cut and squeaky clean as they come, and Biden put him in the "low class squalk box" crowd. Too bad old Joe is so firmly entrenched in his position. It would be nice for some voters to put the same pressure on him that they put on Trent Lot for a poor choice of words.

This is a typical response to something like this in today's liberalized media. The "white man" can't converse regular conversation without being extremely careful in what they say, otherwise they get labeled a "racist" for just about any remark about a black person, man or woman.
He was trying to be polite and gracious but instead, it was taken wrong, as many things are taken by the media. It's already blown completely out of context and misconstrued as something it was not meant to be.
Why would you be concerned about what Jessie Jackson has to say as he's nothing more than a crook himself. He's an adulterer and has been known to extort money from businesses. To think of him as a leader of the black community doesn't speak well for the black community.

I just watched Jesse Jackson on MSNBC - he said that is was just poor wording on Biden's part and he knows Biden is not a racist. Actually he said that he called Biden to clear things up.
Biden himself was on the Daily Show last night and recognized that he shouldn't of used the word "clean" he said that meant to use the word "fresh." He knows he messed up.
Biden's a good guy, definitely not a racist. But, he does talk too much, and he's not good on the spot. Definitely not a good recipe for a presidential candidate.

I think Biden meant to say Obama was "clean-cut," not clean. I think what he was trying to say was that Obama was the first black candidate for the presidency who had a serious chance to win, and that Obama is young, clean-cut, nice looking, appealing, articulate and in general a very charismatic and appealing young politician.
I'm glad Obama is running because he is all of that, and most of all he appeals to young urban voters, a group that historically has a very poor record of turning out to vote. If Obama can energize this group and get them to turn out, we have a darn good chance of putting a Democrat in the White House in 2008!

Al Sharpton told Biden that he does, in fact, bathe every day.
Biden's first run at President was torpedoed because he plagiarized speeches. But at least he was in it for awhile and had built up some momentum before he quit. This time, he shot himself in the foot right out of the starting gate. It's freakin' hilarious whenever democratic hypocrisy gets exposed like that. You just can't MAKE that stuff up! lol.

I didn't feel offended once he explained himself. "Clean-cut" is not racist. Who cares what Jesse said? Only the media.
