Homogeneity is a mathematical concept that all space is mathematically identical, so whatever properites of mathematics a space has, those properties apply to a space regardless of where it occurs.
Isotropy is a property as well, and a similar concept. In mathematics if the geometry of a figure is the same regardless of direction, its said to be isotropic. A sphere is an easy example of something that is both Homogeous and Isotropic mathematically.
its a hard question to answer without delving into the actual mathematical differences.
