I wouldn't not encourage him but I would offer a different type of dance for him to try first like tap or hip hop and if he was still wanting to do ballet then would let him try.

I love Dancers (male ballerina's). They've got the best bodies, and are so athletic. I'd be proud to have a dancer' as a son ... happier if I had a dancer' as husband though (blush).

I would encourage him to do what he's best at.

Sorry, that was funny. My son is 33 and I can't picture him even dancing. I would encourage your son to be what he wants to be. Don't distract him from doing something he likes.

I would encourage him they are many great male dancers out there ..besides this days who cares..if he has a gift for ballet go for it shows he's not afraid to try

Let him express himself in any ways he likes. He might find out that he doesnt enjoy the ballet or if he does support him. He is still your son even if you dont like the idea of him doing ballet

You will love your child no matter what he/she does. So I would encourage a extra curricular activity. All kiddo's need exercise.
