The best thing that you should have done was go into the nurse, however, make an ice-pack, that will stop any further swelling. To do this, get a Ziploc baggie, and fill with ice, if the ice is made from cubes, crush them while in the bag, this is called a cold compression. Leave this in place for as long as you can, elevate the leg so that no tension or pressure is on the leg. If by tommorrow the leg is in no better condition, the pain has gotten worse, by all means seek medical attention, there may be a torn tissue, ligament or the likes.

Ice your knee for today and wrap it with a bandage, but if it still hurts by tomorrow soak in the bath tub or use warm compressess. If it is still badly hurt, you may want to go get an x-ray or MRI to make sure you didn't tear or break anything.

Put an ice pack on it to keep it from swelling. They have ones that velcro on so you will be able to move around with it in place. If it still hurts this time tomorrow, I'd suggest you have it x-rayed. You might have done some real damage.

If you can move without pain, ice it for 20 minutes at time. Take advil for the pain. do not use heat on swelling or a bruise.
If you think something is broken or torn, get to a doc right away.

put some ice in a ziploc bag and wrap it in a hand towel, them put it on the knee, if the pain continues or gets worse you should see a doctor. otherwise i think you may have just banged it up a bit and should be fine

you may need to use crutches, go to the doctor and use RICE
rest, ice, compression, elevation. you can use a pack of frozen peas to ice it. those work perfect cause they conform to your body part. good luck and feel better
