every time i try to do system restore on my lab top it tells me that it couldnt and to select a different date to set it at,well...after the first 7 times that i tried different dates, i realized somthing was not right...any suggestions to my problem?...

i want to restore because my comp got really slow one day..i heard that it should help if i restore it to before the date that it was slow...maby

Often a way to do this is to start up the computer and begin tapping the F8 key to get the computer to boot up into what's known as "Safe Mode". Once in Windows Safe Mode, then try the system restore. Usually this will do the trick. Then just reboot. Good luck.

The best option is try to do it in safe mode
if it does not restore then backup all the data and reinstall the OS

I did it in safe mode before and it still did not work. Why do you want to do a system restore?
