I have no record, always a model citizen, but got desperate and circumstances clouded my judgement, I took 40k. I feel alful, and it was discovered, their is a warrant out for my arrest, but its a low priority and their really backed up in serving them. It has been 1 yr.

Turn yourself in and start acting like a man.

It's called personal responsibility.

you stole 40,000.00? I'd say your judgement was definitely clouded. All you can do is turn yourself in. Either that or run. Running ain't no kind of life, and you'll get caught anyway, sooner or later. It will look better on you if the judge sees that you turned yourself in. Good luck. Oh yeah, stop stealing. (you know you will have to pay that back, don't you?) The charge will be embezzlement, or grand theft. You will not get less than five years. If you get luicky enough to get probation, you are looking at 10 years probation, fines, restitution, etc. If you fail to make a payment, you are going to prison anyway. I'd take the five years straight up. You will serve four.

My niece did the same thing and she could have plead out and been required to pay the money back with probation or do prison time and not have to pay it back. She wound up doing 6 months in prison and of course the man is still after her to get the money back. I believe he went after her in civil court. She did her time in N.C. and said it was easy as far as no problems with other inmates. But, she had a 1 yr. old daughter at home and it just killed her to be away from her. Either way you will have to pay the price if you are convicted. Good luck.
