Absenteeism is the rate at which employees/members fail to be present as scheduled at their organization (also called truancy).

Turnover is the rate at which new members replace members that have quit/been discharged from an organization.

Neither absenteeism nor turnover are desirable for organizational productivity or worker morale.

If absenteeism is high, it is more likely a reflection of a problem with the mental or physical health of the workers at the organization and/or their prioritizing of other commitments over that of their work schedule. When unionization is strong and/or unemployment rates are low, disaffected employees will be more prone to absenteeism than in times when job security is low..

If turnover is high, it implicates poor organizational management/design. The most common forms of dysfunctional organizational design are include:

* Disrespectful of employees' feelings and or reasonable accommodations
* Monotony
* Fails to innovate
* Managers don't listen to employees suggestions how to improve organization
* "Do as I say, not as I do" modus operandi
* dishonesty or immoral activities
* undervalue employees contributions (psychological)
* under-reward employee contributions (financial)

Absenteeism is the number of people that call in sick or unable to work. Turn over occurs when you are constantly having to hire people because people are leaving to find employment elsewhere. Bad companies and low paying jobs tend to have a higher turnover rate.

Absenteeism means you don't show up for work for awhile, but then return to the job. Turnover means you quit and don't come back to work.

If you have a high level of absenteeism, then your company has a lot of people who call in sick/take personal days, etc. If you have a high level of turnover then you get a lot of people who are fired/quit with new people taking their job. So your employees switch often.

Short-term vs. Long-term. While both deal with lack of production, absenteeism relates specifically to attendance while turnover is the ability (or inability) to maintain employees (keep them on staff).

Lust is entirely physical - you want to have sex with this person, grope this person. All body stuff. Love is emotional - yes, there are aspects of lust in love but for the most part it's wanting to be with that person, talk with that person, cuddle, and to stay with them forever. tl;dr Lust leaves when you gain a few pounds, love stays and asks if you want cake.
