My cousin and some friends held an "intervention"

I am 24, I use to play competitive tennis, basketball and crazy about weightlifting. This was about a year and a half ago in university, I am 5 11 and use to weight 190 but I had a six pack....now I am 170 skinny with a small stomach. I stopped doing everythinig because of work...now I am not fat or big or anythinig by any means...

Anyways, I go to my cousin's house and there's some of my friends who are like "Listen we have to talk"

"You've let yourself go"
"Stop eatting so much food fatty"

They wouldn't let me go and came with to sign up for my old gym...while I was there some old gym members saw me and were like "what happened to you? You look different..."

I was very embarrashed...

Was this a good thing that they did?

Frankly, I think it was a lousy thing that they did. Your body shape sounds fine for your height. If they have a problem with it, it's their problem. The important thing is how you feel about yourself. The only person you have to please is you, not them. If you feel that you need to get back on track, then it should be your decision. Don't ever feel like you have to fit someone else's mold. Be the best you can be and rise above it. Love yourself in spite of the b/s they're giving you. Perhaps they're not happy with themselves, so they are trying to drag you into that pit of negativity. Misery loves company!

Flaunt that lovely physique that you have already, hon. When you're ready and have the time to get back in shape, you'll do it, but it will be on YOUR time! Hang in there, Superstar!

Ignore em, at 24 and 170 pounds and pant size 32, you probably look good. Not too muscular or fat by any means, so you are probably average if not above. Tell them to kiss it and why do they care so much? There are more important things in life than weightlifting, it's not like you are 300 pounds! Don't listen to them, are you happy with your body? If yes, that's all that matters.

5' 11" and weigh 170lbs and someone is calling you fatty? I can't believe it.
However, I heard an interesting quote the other day. It was: "A real friend stabs you in the front."
...thought I'd share it.

Wow that's really insensitive. You need to stand your ground and tell everyone to go away. I could see if you were doing drugs or binge eating and vomiting. Or if you were overweight, but this is ridiculous. Tell everyone thank you but no thank you.
