If you let a baby sit in a wet diaper, the baby can develop diaper rash. The longer the baby sits, the worse the rash will become. She should change the baby every time the diaper is wet/pooped or just wet. Ask her if she'd like to sit around in a wet diaper all day.

Absolutely. When a diaper is soiled it needs to be changed pronto.
The diaper soaks up most of the urine , but at the same time keeps the wetness in close proximity to the baby's very sensitive skin. The acids in the urine can cause rashes if the diaper isn't changed in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, she is very wrong. If you leave a wet diaper on a baby it can cause diaper rash from all the moisture down there and not to mention other infections. She needs to change the babies diaper when it's wet.

It needs to be changed every couple of hours to keep the baby's skin from getting irritated.
Sitting in a wet diaper will break down the skin on their little bottom and can cause nasty diaper rash.

Yes, she's wrong. I change my youngest son(1yr old) at least 3 times a day, just so that he doesn't have to sit on a wet, uncomfortable diaper. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing it enough so I change it again. It is not fair to a child who can't do this for himself and diapers are not designed to last that long.

Yes, very wrong. Not only can it cause the above mentioned diaper rash, but also urnary tract and bladder infections. Think about it, pee has bacteria too. I would say if your are around, alot if you could help her by changing the Baby a little more often,
I hope this helped. Good Luck!

Well, you just might want to tell your friend if she's going to only change the Dipper when it's a poopy then she might want to keep look out for a Dipper rash. because if she takes the baby for the baby's check up they will be asking how many wet dippers dose the baby have and if they see that the baby has a dipper rash she's going to have to come up with a good story. Because chances are the doctors not going to buy it.

Today's diapers are so good that you really don't need to change your baby every time that they pee. If you did that you would go through a boat load of diapers. I always used the touch test, if the diaper was big and squishy it was time for a change! When there is poo it is time for a change no exceptions. So, I wouldn't say that your cousin is wrong, but I hope that she isn't letting her baby get too wet while waiting for him/her to poop.

A wet diaper needs to be changed, whether it is poopy or not! The moisture and amonia is bad...not to mention most babies are uncomfortable and will start crying....poor kid!
She needs to start changing those diapers ASAP
