Latex paint is safe as long as the room has good ventilation. However, at 35 weeks you should not be doing that strenuous work. Painting doesn't seem like much until you start doing it. One way I get my husband to do projects he doesn't want to do is to start them myself. He will jump in and take over, even if he really doesn't want to. Maybe you could set up the room like you are going to paint - get the paint, put a tarp down and tape off the trim. You might even start cutting in the edges with a brush. Once your husband sees that, he should take over. If the room is dark blue, then it will need a primer in addition to 2 coats of paint. This is too much painting for you to do on your own. You might also try to find a high school student looking to make a few bucks by painting it for you. It's cheaper than hiring a professional painter. Good luck.

I would not do the painting myself. Does hubby have time? If not let it go until after the baby is born. No sense in risking yours or the baby's health. (re: paint fumes)

My ob told me as long as I wasn't drinking the paint it was okay to paint but I wasn't in pre-term labor. Make your husband do it. HA HA HA I don't think you should be painting. Find someone else to do it or wait until after she's here. As long as you keep her from it, it'll be okay.

Latex or Oil based? Oil based absolutely NOT. Latex is safer if you properly ventilate the room, if it has NO windows, then absolutely do not paint it. That's what my doc told me when i wanted to help paint my son's room, he has 6 windows in it though so we were good :)
