I am a disabled veteran who currently receives monthly compensation benefits, but it's hardly enough to live on. I physically cannot work, is it possible to receive SSI benefits in addition to my VA benefits?

Yes, but the amount of the SSI benefit may be reduced or in worse case, the court may decide that your VA benefit is too large to qualify you for SSI. Still file for SSI, be sure to give the court all copies of your medical records and plea your case.

My husband receives Social Security Disability benefits and a Civil Service pension, but there is a cap on how much the government allows you to receive, when SSA gives a cost of living increase, his Civil Service money gets adjusted. Give it a try.

If you are being paid compensation for injuries in the military, you can also draw Social Security Disability. If you are receiving a disabilty pension from the VA no. Need more info on your case. E-mail me.

Probably - look in the phone book and call social security at the 1 - 800 number or go online to socialsecurity. Don't try to go to the local office without an appointment as ours here is always overrun with illegals getting your benefits.

I do not think you can receive both I know they did in the past but they have changed that so call and find out for sure. Good Luck

you need to call social security at 1-800-772-1213. You can call them 24/7. They will need all of your info to be able to see if you quallify for the benifits.
