Right now me and my mom have a family plan with cingular, but we have to pay over $100 a month and its way to expensive. Plus they keep saying I'm going over my texting limit even though I barely ever text and that I'm on the internet on my phone to much. I'm never on the internet on my phone!! Anyways all my friends and a lot of other people we know have verizon and they love it and it stinks cause I can't talk to them as much otherwise I will run up our bill. Verizon also has service in places where cingular doesn't in my town too. What's your opinion on what me and my mom should do?

Verizon is great! My first phone was Bell Atlantic Mobile, which was a part of Verizon. I then got an AT&T Wireless phone in addition to my Verizon phone. And a Nextel phone. So right now I have a Verizon phone, Cingular (AT&T Wireless merged with Cingular) phone, and a Nextel phone. I am switching to Sprint to get a Treo simply because Sprint's data network is better and their data costs less than Verizon's. I am getting rid of my Verizon phone because I don't need 2 CDMA phones. I love Verizon and the only reason I am getting rid of them is because their data rates are too high. But if you don't need a PDA then it's great. Sprint is good too, and since Sprint has roaming deals with Verizon, you can use Verizon's network even if you don't have Sprint home coverage. Just make sure you don't make more than half your calls on Verizon's network or else Sprint will terminate your service and stick you with an Early Termination Fee of $200 per line. But if you really need IN calling, Verizon is a great choice.

Hmm, your mom should pull your most recent bill and show you how much you text. Could be you're IM'ing a lot from your phone, which eats up txt msgs like I eat chocolates.

If you consider splitting off from your family's plan to go to Verizon Wireless (now we're heading into a family issue), be prepared to foot the bill by yourself, if you haven't so far w/ your family, just to show responsibility.

Otherwise, you might want to restict your IM'ing to your computer.
