it means he will realize and understand whatever he was suppose to "see the light" in. It's a figure of speech referenced from a religious point of view that has made it into mainstream speech. When someone in a religious sector "sees the light" it means they believe in God/Jesus. Now it's used regularly in common speech to refer to someone that now believes something the collective believes....or could refer to lets say school work. For instance: "I didn't understand how 2 + 2 could = 4 but after having a visual I have now "seen the light" on the equation."
