i preferred to have a light music playing the background...not very loud... Also, make sure there is alot of light. go to the kitchen table, not on the Comfy couch or in your bed... usually only one thing happens that way... SLEEPY TIME! Do a 2 hour interval for each subject... switch the CD or you study location also.. GOOD LUCk MAN!

Everyone studies differently. Try a few different methods, and see which helps you remember best. Some people like to organize things visually by mapping, making charts, timelines, (I personally hate this method, but it works for some). Several people I know study best in groups comparing notes, asking questions etc. My favorite way to study is to outline the material and do possible questions.

As for keeping things separate: study, but don't cram. Split study sessions for different with a short break. Also, get plenty of sleep before the exams, this helps almost more than anything. You may also choose to drink coffee before the test, but this is a personal preference.

Schedule time blocks for each subject. Take breaks between. Break everything into smaller parts so you don't get overwhelmed. Just don't procrastinate.

Also flashcards always work for me.
