A liberal isn't necessairly a Democrat and a Republican isn't necessairly a conservative. However, I get the impression that it's close enough to justify a name change. The terms liberal and conservative are used to identify ourselves more often than Republican and Democrat, it seems to me. We might have to make a Moderate party also. Do you think the name change is a good idea ?

The idea has my vote. Republicans and Democrats sound to centrist and wishy washy. Liberals and conservatives make strong stands on their opinions. That's what people want to here, someone who has opinions with passion. A lot more interesting than maybe this, maybe that.

I think you have too much time on your hands.

We descibe ourselves as liberal and conservative because those words define ideologies. "Democrat" and "Republican" do not, because you can be a conservative Democrat and a liberal Republican.
